Roughly 8.5 speakers per seat. And they are designed to be pointed at each of the 17,500 seats. So if you actually sat in the seat you're assigned to, you'll get an immersive audio experience.
For example. When they show a video of a jet flying from the left to the right. Each seat will hear it from the left to the right as a "personal" experience. Not just a few speakers like in a theater.
Even though they didn't talk about it, but they did show it. It would be possible to have multiple languages spoken throughout the audience without having the voice talking over each other.
I watched the default intro presentation in The Sphere recently. It was pretty cool. Of course, they do not showcase all the tech it is likely capable of. It was loud. The seats shook. But aside from the lame marketing messages built into the video, it was essentially IMAX on steroids. Same uncomfortable and cramped seating. It would be cool to see a concert in there though. It was not worth the $110 ticket cost, and then getting in there to find out the show was only about 45 minutes long even though you had to get there at a certain time, then they just want you to wander around the lobby and buy expensive food. LOL
