My daughter dropped the TSU 2000 i've used for 10 years and the display isn't working. I bought a used one and plan to use Pronto Edit to download the config from the unit and upload it to the one I bought. I haven't used Pronto Edit in years -- what version should i use? I have a 64bit Win 7 machine, a 32 bit Win 7 machine, and a Win XP machine
I'd prefer to use the 64 bit Win 7 machine if possible.
i see what you mean. couldn't get the USB to serial cable connection to work. but i dusted off an old laptop that my daughter dropped years ago and was literally falling apart but still worked. it had a serial connection and it got it all to work.
...and for those who follow after this solved problem: Back when "no serial port" was a new problem, I watched as people solved it. There was unanimous agreement that the Keyspan USA-19HS, also known as the Keyspan Serial Adaptor (they had only one model and probably still do) works in all circumstances. I've found that to be so except for occasional needs to futz with the entire system when doing a URC MX850, and frankly I think the remote is the problem there.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything. "The biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." -- G. “Bernie” Shaw
