Strengths:The biggest strength of this remote is its ability to interface with the JP1 cable. With it, 10+ devices can be TOTALLY customized and a complete configuration with learned keys can be saved to computer--restore to remote at anytime. IR strength stronger than most OEM remotes replaced. 15 step macros. All keys backlighted. LCD makes setup easier--codes do not need to be entered to tell the remote what to do. Volume lock/unlock to a particular device very useful.
Weaknesses:Although technically there are 4 learning keys and 8 devices keys (4*8=32), I could only ever get 22-24 max buttons learned (with the JP1 customization, I only needed to learn 5 keys--all from a 10th remote). To add the LCD, the arrow/select keys or the lower models (which are great) were consolidated into a small "joystick" that takes some time getting use to and is not ideal. For the added COM SKIP button, one Macro key was removed that is present on the lower models (4 macro keys). Backlight is red and not yellow/green as advertised. Still good though.
Review:Ordered the remote on-line and was initially disappointed with the different colored backlight (thought I was getting yellow/green as pictured on the site) and the limited learning ability of 24 max keys.
It had no codes that worked for my HD
Satellite Receiver, A/V Receiver or Chinese DVD player.
I got three downloads from One for All that were not exactly for the particular model numbers but were close and pretty good which required the use of less learned buttons.
Found out about the JP1 cable and various software. Ordered the cable right away and everything changed.
Started out just custom programming the three devices mentioned above. Two of the three devices already had files on-line which I modified and added to. The third (A/V Receiver) had to be complete learned and the codes used in turn to make a custome device.
The JP1 cable customization ability is addictive for control freaks! Now have all components custom programmed--9 total (9th accessed by changing control code). Now only have to use 5 learned buttons (4 for an Inday Component Video Switcher remote--10th! remote).
Have 2 macros programmed and Home Theater button set which really makes things easier overall.

Strengths:good feel and gets codes well, the ir-rf is a great addition
Weaknesses:Theater mode will not turn on and off selected buttons, Has to be done individually....extra steps!
Review:Well first every picture you see of this remote URC-9910 (as well as this site) shows it with a white/lime green backlight that looks like it would be easy to see in the dark. But that is not the case it comes with a RED backlight. Ya RED if that is not deception I don't know what is. It is very hard to see or read in the dark and lettering on buttons are black and impossiable to see with backlight on in the dark. I bought it for that feature and was disappointed. If you could see it in the dark it would be a great remote at a great price!

Strengths:Value Paid $39
Weaknesses:Did not have code for Cyber Home DVD, but was able to learn all needed functions.
Customer support did not respond to my email.
Review:This is my first and maybe last combination remote. Since this remote does all I have asked, I am satisfied. I do have an unpopular DVD that was not on the list, however I was able to teach it all I needed. There are adequate spare keys for programming. The real decadent feature that raises my standard is the RF feature. You can control through walls and comfortably hold the remote without concern where it is pointed, still controlling your equipment.
