Review:So far so good!
Definitely a whole hell of a lot better than the damn model for Radio Shack.
Easy to program.
Easy to use.
We'll see how long it lasts, but I have confidence in it...as long as it isn't tossed around.
If you are considering one, read all the reviews and be aware of problems that a lot of consumers have had, so you are not shocked if and/or when you have to return it.
As well, make sure you take the time to shop around. Prices vary widely from $50 to as much as $120. I ended up with the best deal on-line, extended warranty, etc.
If you are looking for something that looks good, will enable the wife and kids operation and are willing to take a chance on its longevity...this could be a good option.

Strengths:Easy setup, very cool to see in any light
Weaknesses:Very hard on batteries, even when not in use, if you're not careful
Review:I have two issues with the Kameleon remote. Sometimes I have to keep pressing volume up/down repeatedly to get it to work instead of being able to hold the volume down, like normal. The other issue is, after owning the remote for less than two weeks it started to malfunction last night, intermittent responsiveness, flashing erratically. I took it back to the store today to find out that the brand new batteries I bought with the remote were flat dead. It lights up too much, for too long, draining the batteries too fast. Other than that, when it works it works great. It is a keeper, but definitely not a replacement remote.

Strengths:Sleek design, powerful configuration, kool blue light.
Weaknesses:Everything else. Somehow got stuck in setup mode and wasted the batteries. Needs better fuzzy logic on when to turn on backlight. Poor tactile feedback forces you to look at damn thing all the time. Often missed buttons. Poor button placement. Stick and non-responsive buttons. Eventually went into on/off infinite loop and wasted a second pair of batteries in less than a month. Now in my remote graveyard.
Review:An unmitigated piece of crap. The company will make millions off of poor geek suckers like us before everyone discovers the damn thing was never tested in real-life settings. Most of us will also do the usual thing and not return it, as it's too much time and too much hassle.

The click-screen concept simply does not work. It's not a touch screen and it's not a keyboard. It's dumb, it's stupid, and to top it off it loses its brains and just plain dies. I'll bet this thing has a failure rate upwards of 50%. Class-action lawsuit, anyone? My time is worth $80 on the open market, and I've wasted at least 8 hours dealing with the damn thing.

Whatever you do, if you're reading this review and thinking of buying it because you'll get lucky, DON'T. IT WILL FAIL. YOU WILL FEEL LIKE A FOOL.

Ah for the days when a horseshoe failed and you could just walk up to your neighborly blacksmith and ream him a new asshole. All I can do is vent in a little text window.

Strengths:At first I was skeptical that it would actually replace all my remotes. Not only did it replace them it was very easy to program and is nice to operate in the dark. With the auxiliary mode I can even control my X10 lights with an IR receiver.
Weaknesses:Some of the buttons are sticky and I hope this does not build up to the point where they stop functioning. The remote will turn on from the slight vibration of me walking into the room but when it shuts off on me while I’m surfing channels, I have to shake it to make it come back on.
Review:The problem I had with all the other master remotes was that there’s always one button on each individual remote that is not duplicated on the master. I have a five disc DVD player and could not find a master remote that had a button that would let me change discs. Many would not operate my satellite dish and the one’s that did, didn’t have a button that would allow me to operate my PVR. On the television, I need to switch between video channels that no master remote would have a button for.

The One For All URC-9960 not only duplicated most of the buttons from my individual remotes, it allowed me to assign codes to certain buttons so I could switch DVD’s, video channels and best of all it had a separate PVR screen already built in.

With just a few keys re-assigned, the home theater mode works great when we are watching a movie. There’s no need to switch to the receiver to adjust the volume and the DVD player to operate the movie.

The macro buttons work so well that I wish it had more than just four.

My main complaint is that it shuts off too soon. I’m sure this is to save the batteries but I don’t understand why it so hard to make the remote turn back on. When I sit down on the sofa it turns on from the vibration almost as if it’s saying hello. Yet I have to shake it back on while I searching the satellite guide.

I paid $89 for mine at Circuit City. When I asked several employees questions about the One For All, it became apparent that they had no idea how to operate any of their master remotes.

Review:What a piece of crap! Unit went into endless loop of light on,light off. After spending a few hours trying to repair it, I snapped the damm thing in half and threw it away. Oh it worked really good out of the box for about a hour.

Strengths:Versatility, learning, macros and a decent setup routine.
Weaknesses:Sticky buttons, odd button placement and grouping, and flaky light function.
Review:I bought this remote out of the frustration of having too many remotes like everyone else, therefore I was hoping it would actually replace them. I was very wary of buying another All in One product, due to quality and reliability issues I've seen with them in the past. Well I'm dissapointed again. Don't get me wrong, this is a very innovative product, and has a promising future, but the quality is just not there yet. The buttons stick, causing the function to stay on longer than intended. The placement of some of the groups is not very intuitive or convenient. Some buttons are too close together, making it hard to get the right one. The buttons are very picky about being pressed exactly on center. It still seems to be missing some of the more common buttons on modern A/V products, causing you to make it learn on a substitute key with the wrong name. And finally the worst problem, the automatic light-up function is screwed up, at least on mine. I don't know if this is a functional engineering defect, or if mine was just an isolated defect, but the light is supposed to go out after 5 seconds of inactivity. well, half the time it just keeps cycling on and off like it's cought in a loop. This is not only annoying, but causes excessive battery wear. I've tried different batteries, laying on a different surface, etc. but nothing worked. I will be returning this product, and will probably never buy another All in One product. They just don't seem to get it.

Note: actually owned for less than 2 weeks.

Strengths:The cool factor - the unit lights up when you pick it up and turns off when left alone. The digital ink technology is wild and new.
Weaknesses:I found that the unit needed to be pointing directly at my equipment's IR sensor(s) AND I had to be closer than with my other IR remotes - so distance was an issue for me too.
Pushing the small buttons/icons is a sloppy process and I found myself struggling to get the number or function to actually work on my first push.
Review:I, unfortunately, will be returning this product. When they fix the button and distance/line of sight issues then I will happily pick another one up.

There is so much that can be done with the surface area and I don't know why they a static, predesignated layout when they could use a matrix grid under the digital ink interface to track movement/pressure - this would allow for a greater flexibility in programming more versitile templates that better suit the individual. This would also allow you to move buttons around as your needs change.
