ProntoEdit out! In confirmation of my news update yesterday, ProntoEdit v1.05 is now
officially available for all users along with the latest firmware upgrade (SYS v3.62 & APP v4.85).
Continuing the details posted yesterday, no new features have been added. However, many
long-standing bugs have been corrected, including the Windows NT ProntoEdit Emulator crash,
unclickable "negative value" buttons, left/right key propagation, VBAJET32 crash after
installation, the "invalid configuration" error message after upgrading remotes with older
firmware plus the mysterious Home Panel jump spot from the bottom bar are now fixed. Other bug
fixes and features implemented in the never-released APP v4.84 upgrade will finally be available
to all Pronto users currently stuck with APP v4.81 -- important to many users will be B&O and
Kenwood code learning. So, I suggest that all users perform this upgrade by installing ProntoEdit
v1.05 and then by running TOOLS - Upgrade Pronto/RC5000.
It appears the MFC42.DLL file problem does exist. So, if you receive the error message
"PRONTOEDIT.EXE is linked to missing export MFC42.DLL : 6880" you will need to use the workaround
contained in the readme.txt file, available on SmartConnect.
Finally I've received a beta version of RC5000 Setup v1.02.03 which should be publically released
shortly.
