Philips Pronto NG TSU3000 Features:
16 greyshade touchscreen display: The black & white LCD screen provides a resolution of 240x320 pixels and is capable of displaying a total of 16 greyshades. The contrast level can be digitally adjusted to 16 levels via a combination of buttons. A manual backlight button can be used to turn the remote on without tapping the screen.
4mb memory: The remote features 4 megabytes of memory and provides plenty of space for user configurations.
Light sensor: An integrated light sensor automatically activates the backlighting when ambient light levels are lower than the configured trigger point.
20 hard buttons: 17 of these hard buttons are user configurable and can contain device functions. Hard buttons include a 4-way menu pad, 4 function buttons, 4 multi-purpose buttons, plus 5 buttons for volume and channel control. Non-configurable hard buttons include a [Backlight] button and [Page Up/Down].
Preprogrammed device database: The TSU3000 features a huge database of preprogrammed codes right on the remote covering hundreds of brands. The database used is licensed from UEI, makers of the One For All and Radio Shack line of remote controls. A built-in code search function is available and can search through all possible brands for a device category, or only the code sets for a single brand.
Learn all your system components: Full code learning capabilities permit the capturing of signals to any in-device LCD or hard button. Code frequencies that can be learned include up to 78kHz and 455kHz.
Adjust the auto-off time: The TSU3000 has no “off” button. Instead, you can individually adjust the amount of idle time before the LCD and backlight automatically switches off, from 3 seconds to 4 minutes.
Unlimited number of devices: No longer will your remote run out of space before your A/V rack does! The Pronto NG can handle any number of devices – you’re only limited by available memory. The default pre-programmed devices include TV, Tuner, DVD, Cable, PVR, LD, PreAmp, VCR, CD, Satellite, Tape, Flat TV, Web TV and Home Automation.
Unlimited number of macros: Every usable in-device button can contain a macro of commands from any number of devices. Each macro can have up to 255 commands and can include delays from 0.1 to 10.0 seconds (additional capabilities with PENG).
Custom label all buttons: All LCD buttons plus four general purpose hard buttons can have custom text labels, entered via a miniature QWERTY keyboard. 190 characters are provided, covering numbers, upper and lower case keys, numerous icons and foreign characters (additional capabilities with PENG).
Attach a learned command to devices: When devices are selected, the TSU3000 can be programmed to transmit a signal learned command (additional capabilities with PENG).
Delete buttons or devices: Unused in-device buttons or entire devices can be deleted from view.
Copy and move devices: Devices can be copied complete with all attached functions, or have their “Device Overview” display order changed.
Custom label device pages: Each page in a device can have a custom name, such as “Numerical Keypad” and “Audio Formats”. These names are displayed when the “Page Overview” is requested.
Screen animation: The Pronto NG uses animation during major section changes and will scroll between devices and pages. This behavior can be customized or disabled.
USB port: The TSU3000 uses a USB 1.1 jack for connection to a personal computer.
Flash upgradeable: Using the USB port, owners can connect to their PC and, through ProntoEdit NG, flash upgrade the TSU3000 to the latest operating and application software.
Uses alkaline or rechargeable batteries: The TSU3000’s battery compartment is outfitted with an alkaline AAA battery tray that is removed if using the optional rechargeable battery pack. An icon displaying the current battery level is shown at all times.
Built-in clock: The Pronto NG displays the current time and date on all screens.
Button beeps: Hard buttons and LCD buttons feature beeps that can be adjusted to one of three volume levels, or disabled.
Optional docking station: The optional DS3000 includes a NiMH AAA battery pack and desktop charger, which connects to the remote for charging. The station can also be used to pass a USB connection to the remote.
Optional RF basestation: Up to 16 RFX6000 RF extenders can be used with the TSU3000’s built-in RF transmitter to control your infrared-based home theater system through walls, up to 100 feet away. RF extenders include a wide-band IR emitter plus ports for four dual-head wired emitters (included). Devices can be individually configured to transmit IR from the remote, or IR from one of the extenders.
Full-featured software: Bundled with the remote and available for download is the ProntoEdit NG Windows-based software application. Additional features included with PENG are:
Modify the default interface: A special system page contains individual user interface items, which can be moved or removed from view if desired. Other objects placed on this screen will be visible on all remote pages.
Full screen editing: If the default user interface is modified or removed, the entire screen area of 240 by 320 pixels can be used for your configuration.
Custom bitmaps: ProntoEdit NG can load industry standard Windows BMP files, from 1 by 1 pixels in size up to the maximum screen size of 240 by 320 pixels. Bitmaps can be assigned to buttons (with both normal and pressed states) or to non-functional panels.
Button transparencies: Images assigned to buttons or panels can have a color deemed transparent, meaning that anything beneath that color shows through.
Edit labels: Button labels can be set to one of 4 font sizes and one of 16 colors (for both normal and pressed states).
Macros: All buttons can include preprogrammed commands, learned signals, delays, beeps, page jumps or aliases to other buttons. Devices can also have an attached macro that is transmitted every time the device is selected.
Use advanced functions: In place of standard commands, buttons can be set to one of several advanced functions: activate backlight, browse forwards or backwards, device left or right, device overview, page up or down, page overview, home, cursor navigation, setup menu or tools menu.
Group objects: Buttons and panels can be easily grouped together for positioning and duplication as a single object.
Hide pages or devices: Individual pages or entire devices can be hidden from view, preventing easy access to them on the remote (hidden items can still be referenced or accessed from other buttons).
Work with multiple files: ProntoEdit NG can work with multiple files at once. Files can also be automatically merged together.
Button Gallery: The newly redesigned gallery stores individual bitmaps and completed buttons in configurable categories. Buttons can be quickly dragged from the gallery onto pages.
Protect your setup: Configurations can be write protected so that they cannot be modified on-remote.
Share configurations: The PCF file format contains a complete copy of the remote’s configuration that can be shared amongst other users.
Import CCF files: PENG can convert the large available library of Pronto CCF files into the new PCF file format.
Editing aids: Features that can assist with editing include a snap-to grid, border, page preview zooming and object centering.
Software emulator: The Pronto NG emulator can be used to test your configuration on-screen – just as if you were using the real remote!
Create executable files: A special function converts a PCF file into an executable file that will automatically download to an attached TSU3000 when run.
