Controls 8 components: The remote's device buttons are labelled for Satellite/Cable, CD, TV, DVD, Audio, VCR, PVR and Aux, but any button can control any type of device.
Backlighting: An integral part of Kameleon technology, the touch panel illuminates with a blue electroluminescent (EL) panel with 8 brightness levels.
Pickup Sensor: The Kameleon 8 features a pickup sensor that activates the touch panel with any motion. The panel automatically shuts off after 7 seconds of inactivity.
Preprogrammed code database: A built-in UEI preprogrammed code database covering thousands of components is included with the Kameleon 8, covering audio amplifiers, audio receivers, cable boxes, CD players, DVD players, DVD/VCR combos, home automation devices, PVRs, satellite receivers, satellite/PVR combos, televisions, TV/DVD combos, TV/VCR combos, VCRs and miscellaneous video accessories. Code numbers may also be searched for.
Add new preprogrammed codes: The Kameleon 8 can be easily upgraded over the phone with new preprogrammed code sets.
Home Theater Mode: The Kameleon 8 has a special "9th" device that merges control of up to 4 different components onto a single screen.
Code learning: The Kameleon 8 can learn approximately 24 commands from your original remote controls.
Macros: The Kameleon 8 has 4 dedicated macro keys that can store sequences of up to 16 steps. The Home Theater Mode's [Power] button may also hold a macro.
Channel Scan: A special button on the remote will send the [Channel Up] command every 3 seconds for 3 minutes on certain devices. One of these devices can expand the feature to 10 3-digit (plus [Enter]) channel macros.
Setup Menu: An on-screen setup menu helps provide an easy configuring experience.
Key Mover: Lets you copy a button from one device to another.
Key Magic: Using advanced "Magic Codes", buttons can be programmed to control specific device functions not normally available.
Volume Lock: Allows you to configure the Kameleon 8’s volume buttons to control the volume of one device under any number of other devices.
Memory protection: The Kameleon will not lose its programming when it is without power.
